The Son of Tarzan, published in book form in 1917, is the fourth of Edgar Rice Burroughs's Tarzan novels. Years after Tarzan has settled in London as Lord Greystoke, the great ape Akut is brought to England as a performing animal, and Jack, the young son of Tarzan and Jane, slips away with him to Africa, where he grows up as a jungle warrior known as Korak, the Killer. There he rescues Meriem, a little girl held captive by a cruel Arab sheikh, and the two share a wild life full of danger. Fast-moving and packed with fights, kidnappings and narrow escapes, it carries the saga into a new generation and remains a favorite among Burroughs's readers. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
