Out of Time's Abyss is the third of Edgar Rice Burroughs's Caspak stories, first published in 1918. It follows Bradley, the English officer who set out on a scouting trip from Fort Dinosaur and never came back. He is carried off by the Wieroo, a winged race of men who inhabit the island city of Oo-oh and whose murderous society has one unforgivable word in it. Among them Bradley meets a captive girl and learns the secret of how life on Caspak actually works, the puzzle the first two novellas left open.
