The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ
The Philosophic and Practical Basis of the Religion of the Aquarian Age of the World and of The Church Universal
The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, first published in 1908, was written by Levi H. Dowling, an American preacher who claimed to have transcribed it from the Akashic records, a cosmic memory of all events. It retells the life of Jesus, filling the years the canonical gospels leave silent with journeys to India, Tibet, Persia, Assyria, Greece and Egypt, where he learns from sages and passes through initiations, before returning to his ministry in Palestine. The book presents Jesus as a teacher of universal wisdom for a coming Aquarian age. Its claims have no historical basis, but it became an influential text of the New Thought and later New Age movements. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
