About 9 h 16 min of reading597 chapters

This third volume of the Cambridge Shakespeare, edited by William George Clark and William Aldis Wright and published in 1863, contains four plays that first appeared in the Folio of 1623, in the Folio's order: The Taming of the Shrew, All's Well That Ends Well, Twelfth Night and The Winter's Tale. The Cambridge edition was the first to collate systematically every early text, and beneath each page of the plays run the variant readings of the quartos, folios and later editors, so that the reader can see how the text was made. The volume opens with a preface on the sources of each play and closes with notes on difficult passages. It became the basis of the one-volume Globe Shakespeare. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first act is free.
