The Complete Works of William Shakespeare

by William Shakespeare

About 63 h 50 min of reading1037 chapters

This single volume contains all of Shakespeare's plays and poems: the comedies, from The Comedy of Errors to Twelfth Night; the histories, including the two cycles that run from Richard II to Richard III; the great tragedies, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear and Macbeth; the late romances, among them The Tempest and The Winter's Tale; and the sonnets and narrative poems. The plays were written between roughly 1590 and 1613 for the London stage, and about half of them survive only because two of Shakespeare's colleagues collected them in the First Folio of 1623. At nearly a million words, it is by far the longest title in the Vinteuil catalogue. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil; the first chapter is free.
