The Tale of Benjamin Bunny

by Beatrix Potter

About 5 min of reading1 chapters

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, published in 1904, is Beatrix Potter's sequel to The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Peter's cousin Benjamin finds him miserable about the clothes he lost in Mr. McGregor's garden and persuades him to go back for them while the McGregors are away. They climb down the pear tree, find the jacket and shoes on the scarecrow and fill a handkerchief with onions as a present for Peter's mother, but a cat sits down on the basket under which they have hidden and stays there for five hours. Rescue arrives in the form of old Mr. Benjamin Bunny, with a little switch. Potter's pictures of the walled garden were drawn at Fawe Park in the Lake District.
