The Life of Trust is an American condensation, edited by H. Lincoln Wayland and published in Boston in 1861, of George Müller's own Narrative of the Lord's Dealings with him. Müller tells of his dissolute youth in Prussia, his conversion as a student, his move to England and his ministry in Bristol, where in 1836 he opened a home for destitute orphans that grew into the great orphan houses on Ashley Down. His rule was never to ask anyone for money and to rely on prayer alone, and the book records, year by year and sometimes day by day, the needs of the homes and the gifts that met them. It became a classic of evangelical devotion. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
