Experiments with Alternate Currents of High Potential and High Frequency
A Lecture Delivered before the Institution of Electrical Engineers, London
Experiments with Alternate Currents of High Potential and High Frequency is the text of the lecture Nikola Tesla gave before the Institution of Electrical Engineers in London in 1892, published in New York the same year with a portrait and a biographical sketch of the inventor. In it Tesla describes the apparatus he had developed for producing currents of extremely high frequency and voltage, and the striking effects he obtained with them: brush and streamer discharges, lamps glowing without wires, tubes lit by electrostatic fields, and new forms of incandescent and phosphorescent light. He also speculates on future uses, from lighting to wireless power. The lecture shows Tesla at the height of his early fame.
