About 6 h 03 min of reading16 chapters

What Nietzsche Taught, published in 1915 and dedicated to H. L. Mencken, is Willard Huntington Wright's guide to Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy, written when the German philosopher was widely blamed for the war then raging in Europe. After a biographical sketch, Wright summarizes each of Nietzsche's major books in turn, Human, All-Too-Human, The Dawn of Day, The Joyful Wisdom, Thus Spake Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, The Genealogy of Morals, The Twilight of the Idols, The Antichrist and The Will to Power, largely in Nietzsche's own words and with short commentary. Wright later became famous under the name S. S. Van Dine as the author of the Philo Vance detective novels. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
