Summa Theologica, Part I (Prima Pars)
From the Complete American Edition
The Prima Pars is the first of the three parts of the Summa Theologica, the summary of Christian theology that Thomas Aquinas wrote between 1265 and his death in 1274 and left unfinished. Its 119 questions, each divided into articles that state objections, answer them and reply, treat the nature of theology, the existence and attributes of God, the Trinity, the creation, the angels, the six days, the human being as a union of soul and body with its powers of intellect and will, and the government of the world by providence. This is the translation of the Fathers of the English Dominican Province, published in the early twentieth century, and the standard English text. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
