About 18 h 48 min of reading606 chapters

Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan is James Tod's account of the Rajput states of western India, written after his years as the East India Company's political agent there and first published in 1829 and 1832. This is the second volume of the edition prepared by William Crooke in 1920, with notes correcting and updating Tod. It opens by completing the account of Mewar, with chapters on the influence of the priesthood, the temples and endowments of Eklinga and Nathdwara, the worship of Krishna and the festivals of the Rajput year, before proceeding to the annals of the other states. Tod's admiration for Rajput chivalry colors everything, and his work shaped how the region saw its own history.
