About 16 h 57 min of reading230 chapters

The Great Controversy, first published in 1858 and expanded in 1884 and 1888, is the best known of the many books of Ellen G. White, a founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who regarded it as the record of a vision of the conflict between good and evil across history. It begins with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 and follows the persecution of the early Christians, the Waldenses, Wycliffe, Huss, Luther, Zwingli and Calvin, the Reformation in England and France, the Pilgrim Fathers, and the American religious awakening of the 1840s, before turning to prophecy: the investigative judgment, the Sabbath, the state of the dead, and the final events leading to the second coming. It remains central to Adventist teaching. It is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, with the first chapter free.
