About 15 h 56 min of reading70 chapters

Armenia, Travels and Studies, published in 1901 by the British traveler and businessman H. F. B. Lynch, is based on two long journeys he made through Armenia in the 1890s. This second volume covers the Turkish provinces. Lynch describes routes, towns, monasteries and mountains, with long studies of Lake Van and the ancient kingdom whose inscriptions survive around it, of Van in his own day, and of Erzurum and other cities, illustrated by his photographs and plans. Appendices give documents on the Armenian question, notes on the Armenian Church and a bibliography. It remains a major source on the region before the catastrophes of the following years. The full text is available to read online in your browser on Vinteuil, and the first chapter is free.
