William Jackson was an English clergyman and writer of the Victorian period, a former fellow of Worcester College, Oxford, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. He wrote on philosophy and religion in response to the intellectual challenges of his day, in books such as Positivism and Right and Wrong. His essay The Philosophy of Natural Theology, which won a prize at Oxford in 1872, defended the argument from design against the skepticism encouraged by Darwinism and materialism.
