Walter K. Kelly was a writer, editor and translator active in London in the mid-nineteenth century. He edited and translated works for popular series such as Bohn's libraries, including classical authors and a history of Russia, and wrote on folklore. His Proverbs of All Nations, published in 1859, grouped proverbs by theme and set English sayings beside their equivalents in many other languages, and his Curiosities of Indo-European Tradition and Folk-Lore compared myths and customs across Europe and India.
