Thomas M. Lindsay

Thomas Martin Lindsay (1843–1914) was a Scottish church historian and minister of the Free Church of Scotland. Educated at Glasgow and Edinburgh, he became professor of church history at the Free Church College in Glasgow in 1872 and its principal in 1902. He wrote on Luther and the German Reformation and on the early church in The Church and the Ministry in the Early Centuries, but his principal work is A History of the Reformation, published in two volumes in 1906 and 1907, which drew on contemporary sources and gave unusual attention to the social life of the period and to the radical reformers.
