Sunzi

Sunzi, known in the West as Sun Tzu, is the name traditionally given to Sun Wu, a Chinese general said to have served King Helü of Wu around the end of the sixth century B.C. Almost nothing about him can be confirmed, and scholars believe the text attributed to him took shape over time during the Warring States period. That text, the Art of War, sets out in thirteen short chapters a philosophy of strategy based on planning, deception and knowledge of oneself and the enemy, and has been studied by soldiers, statesmen and business leaders for over two thousand years.
