Quintus Smyrnaeus

Quintus of Smyrna, known in Latin as Quintus Smyrnaeus, was a Greek epic poet who probably lived in the fourth century AD. Almost nothing is known of his life beyond a passage in his poem in which he says the Muses inspired him while he tended sheep near Smyrna as a young man. His Posthomerica, known in English as The Fall of Troy, is a poem in fourteen books in the Homeric manner that tells the events between the end of the Iliad and the return of the Greeks, from the arrival of Penthesilea to the sack of the city.
