Marie Robinson Wright

Marie Robinson Wright (1853–1914) was an American journalist and travel writer born in Georgia. After working as a newspaper correspondent, she traveled widely in Latin America and wrote lavishly illustrated books on its countries, among them Picturesque Mexico, The New Brazil, The Republic of Chile, Bolivia, The Old and the New Peru and Mexico: A History of Its Progress and Development in One Hundred Years (1911). Her books, often written with the support of the governments she described, combined history, statistics and praise of modern progress, and were valued in their day as introductions to the region.
