Lucy Baxter (1837–1902), who wrote as Leader Scott, was an English writer on art and architecture. She was the daughter of the Dorset poet and philologist William Barnes, whose biography she wrote, and after her marriage she settled in Florence, where she spent the rest of her life and became an honorary member of the city's Academy of Fine Arts. Her books include The Renaissance of Art in Italy, studies of Italian painters and sculptors, and The Cathedral Builders (1899), which argued that a guild of builders from the region of Lake Como, the Comacine Masters, carried Roman building traditions through the early Middle Ages.
