Jonathan Ceredig Davies

Jonathan Ceredig Davies was a Welsh writer and folklorist from Cardiganshire. As a young man he traveled widely, spending time in the Welsh settlement in Patagonia, which he described in Adventures in the Land of Giants, and in Western Australia, the subject of another book. Returning to Wales, he devoted himself to recording the customs, superstitions and stories of his native region, largely from the memories of country people, and published Folk-Lore of West and Mid-Wales in 1911, still an important source for Welsh folklore.
