Geo. F. Horton

George F. Horton was an American physician and family historian of the nineteenth century. He compiled the Horton Genealogy, published in Philadelphia in 1876, which traces the descendants of Barnabas Horton, an English settler who arrived at Southold on Long Island around 1640. Gathering family records, letters and traditions, he followed the family through two centuries of births, marriages, migrations and occupations, adding notes on old family relics and on the antiquity of the Horton name in England.
