Charles Morton Aikman was a Scottish agricultural chemist active at the end of the nineteenth century. He lectured in chemistry at the Glasgow Veterinary College and the West of Scotland Technical College and was an examiner in chemistry for the Highland and Agricultural Society. His principal work, Manures and the Principles of Manuring, published in 1894, brought together the results of the field experiments at Rothamsted and on the Continent with the new understanding of nitrogen fixation, and it went through several editions as a textbook for farmers and students. He also wrote Milk: Its Nature and Composition and a shorter book on farmyard manure.
