Charles Cavendish Fulke Greville (1794–1865) was an English diarist and civil servant. A grandson of the Duke of Portland, he served as a page to George III, managed the racing stables of the Duke of York and for nearly forty years, from 1821 to 1859, was Clerk of the Privy Council. The post kept him close to three sovereigns and every cabinet of the period, and he recorded what he saw in a detailed private journal. Published by Henry Reeve between 1874 and 1887, The Greville Memoirs caused offense at court for their frankness and remain a key source for the politics and society of the age.
