Charles Davison

Charles Davison was an English seismologist and mathematician, the leading student of British earthquakes in his generation. He taught mathematics for many years at King Edward's School in Birmingham and devoted his research to collecting and analyzing reports of earthquakes felt in Britain, from which he drew maps of intensity and conclusions about their origins in faults. His books include The Hereford Earthquake of December 17th, 1896, A Study of Recent Earthquakes, A History of British Earthquakes and The Founders of Seismology, a history of the science.
