Charles Beadle was an English novelist of the early twentieth century who set much of his fiction in colonial Africa, where he had traveled. His books include A Whiteman's Burden and Witch-Doctors (1922), a story of rival intrigues around a German military station on Lake Victoria before the First World War, which draws on his knowledge of African customs and colonial life. He wrote adventure stories for magazines as well as novels. Few details of his life are recorded in standard reference works.
