Arthur B. Chamberlain was an English art historian and museum official of the early twentieth century. He served as keeper of the art gallery and museum in Birmingham and wrote on the painters of his own city as well as on the old masters. His principal work is the two-volume Hans Holbein the Younger of 1913, the first full-scale study of the painter in English, which gathered the documentary evidence for Holbein's life in Augsburg, Basel and England and catalogued his paintings, drawings and designs for woodcuts. He also published a study of George Romney and contributed to the Dictionary of National Biography.
