Albert Ernest Jenks (1869–1953) was an American anthropologist. After studies at Kalamazoo College and the University of Wisconsin, he worked for the Bureau of American Ethnology and in 1902 went to the Philippines, where he became chief of the Ethnological Survey set up by the American colonial government. His study The Bontoc Igorot (1905), based on months of residence in a mountain town of Luzon, was its first major publication. He then taught for many years at the University of Minnesota, where he founded the anthropology department and later turned to the archaeology of early human remains in the American Midwest.
