Andrew George Little (1863–1945) was an English historian and the leading British authority of his time on the Franciscan friars. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, he published The Grey Friars in Oxford in 1892 and went on to teach history at University College, Cardiff, where he became professor. He founded the British Society of Franciscan Studies, edited medieval Franciscan texts and documents, and wrote Studies in English Franciscan History and many articles on Roger Bacon and the friars' role in medieval learning. His patient work with manuscripts set the standard for later research.
