A. F. Mockler-Ferryman (1856–1930), Augustus Ferryman Mockler-Ferryman, was a British Army officer and writer. He served in the Oxfordshire Light Infantry and spent time in West Africa, which he described in Up the Niger and British Nigeria. He later taught at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, wrote on military history and on regimental life, and compiled The Life of a Regimental Officer During the Great War, 1793-1815 from the letters of Colonel Samuel Rice. His books combine first-hand knowledge of soldiering with careful use of documents.
