William Thomas Davis (1822–1907) was an American lawyer and local historian of Plymouth, Massachusetts, where he was born and spent his life. Educated at Harvard, he practiced law, served in the state legislature and was for many years president of the Pilgrim Society. His Ancient Landmarks of Plymouth (1883), History of the Town of Plymouth (1885) and Genealogical Register of Plymouth Families made him the authority on the town's past, and he also wrote histories of the Massachusetts judiciary and bar. Plymouth Memories of an Octogenarian (1906), published in his eighty-fourth year, set down what he himself remembered of the old town.
