William Henry Pyle

William Henry Pyle was an American psychologist who taught educational psychology at the University of Missouri in the early twentieth century. He specialized in the psychology of learning and the measurement of mental and physical traits in schoolchildren, and wrote textbooks for teachers in training, among them The Outlines of Educational Psychology and The Science of Human Nature, a psychology for beginners with class exercises and readings. His work reflects the efforts of his generation to bring experimental psychology into the classroom.
