William D. Gann

William Delbert Gann (1878–1955) was an American trader in stocks and commodities, known for his methods of market forecasting. Born on a cotton farm in Texas, he began trading in cotton as a young man and later moved to New York, where he built a reputation through market newsletters and courses. His theories combined geometry, time cycles and astronomy, and they are still studied by technical analysts. He wrote books including Truth of the Stock Tape, How to Make Profits in Commodities and a novel, The Tunnel Thru the Air, published in 1927.
