William Barry Lord

William Barry Lord was a British writer on travel and outdoor life in the second half of the nineteenth century. With the artist and explorer Thomas Baines, he wrote Shifts and Expedients of Camp Life, Travel and Exploration, a large practical handbook pooling the experience both men had gained in many lands, a book still valued as a record of the practical skills of Victorian exploration.
