Warren K. Moorehead (1866–1939) was an American archaeologist and advocate for Native American rights. Born in Italy to missionary parents and raised in Ohio, he excavated mounds in the Ohio Valley, including the Hopewell site, and later at Cahokia in Illinois and in Maine. For many years he directed the department of American archaeology at Phillips Academy, Andover. As a member of the Board of Indian Commissioners from 1908, he investigated the fraud that stripped the Ojibwa of White Earth of their land, and in The American Indian in the United States he pleaded for reform.
