Charles Wadsworth Camp (1879–1936) was an American novelist, journalist and critic. A Princeton graduate, he worked as a reporter and war correspondent and wrote drama criticism for New York newspapers, while publishing fiction that ranged from mystery and horror, including The Abandoned Room (1917), The House of Fear and Sinister Island, to novels of American life such as The Guarded Heights (1921), set partly at his old university. He served in the First World War and his lungs were damaged by gas, which contributed to his early death. His daughter was the novelist Madeleine L'Engle, author of A Wrinkle in Time.
