Thomas V. Cooper

Thomas Valentine Cooper was an American newspaper editor and Republican politician from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, who served for many years in the Pennsylvania legislature in the late nineteenth century. With Hector T. Fenton he compiled American Politics (Non-Partisan) from the Beginning to Date, a large reference work first published in the 1880s and revised in later editions. It gathers a history of the political parties, their platforms and records on the major issues, celebrated speeches, and election returns and statistics, and was widely used by students, journalists and campaigners.
