Thomas William Rolleston (1857–1920) was an Irish writer and scholar. Born in County Offaly and educated at Trinity College, Dublin, he lived for some years in Germany, where he translated Walt Whitman into German with Karl Knortz, and on his return founded the Dublin University Review and helped Yeats establish the Irish Literary Society in London in 1892. He edited Whitman and translated Wagner's libretti, and his books include a life of Lessing, Parsifal, The High Deeds of Finn and Myths and Legends of the Celtic Race. His poem The Dead at Clonmacnois, a version from the Irish, is in most anthologies of Irish verse.
