Stuart Daggett

Stuart Daggett was an American economist who specialized in transportation. Trained at Harvard, he published Railroad Reorganization in 1908 as one of the first volumes of the Harvard Economic Studies, examining how bankrupt American railroads were rebuilt by bankers and bondholders. He went on to a long career teaching at the University of California, Berkeley, where he wrote widely used textbooks such as Principles of Inland Transportation and studies of railroad history and finance, including the Southern Pacific.
