Sepharial

Sepharial was the pen name of Walter Gorn Old (1864–1929), an English astrologer and occultist. Born in Handsworth, he studied medicine and oriental languages, joined the Theosophical Society in 1889 and was a member of the inner group around Madame Blavatsky, at whose deathbed he was present. He edited the astrological almanacs that bore the name of Old Moore and published a long series of popular handbooks, among them The Manual of Astrology, Prognostic Astronomy, The Kabala of Numbers and Astrology: How to Make and Read Your Own Horoscope, which did much to revive interest in astrology in Britain. He also wrote on dreams, crystal gazing and the stock market.
