Sidney Kilner Levett-Yeats (1858–1916) was an English novelist who spent his working life in India, first as an officer and then as a civil servant in the finance and audit departments. He began writing in his thirties, and The Honour of Savelli, a swashbuckling tale of Renaissance Italy published in 1895, was an immediate success. The Chevalier d'Auriac, about the France of Henri IV, and The Heart of Denise and Other Tales followed, and he was often compared with Stanley Weyman as a writer of historical romance in the manner of Dumas. He died in London shortly after retiring.
