Rupert S. Holland

Rupert Sargent Holland (1878–1952) was an American lawyer and writer from Louisville, Kentucky, who produced some fifty books for young readers in the first half of the twentieth century: adventure novels, historical tales and retellings of classic stories. His King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1919) condenses Malory and the Arthurian romances into a continuous narrative for younger readers, and his Historic Boyhoods and Historic Girlhoods series presented the childhoods of famous figures. He also wrote stories of the American Revolution and the Civil War.
