Mrs. Russell Barrington

Emilie Isabel Barrington (1842–1933), who wrote as Mrs. Russell Barrington, was an English writer and painter. Born Emilie Wilson, she married Russell Barrington and lived in Kensington close to the circle of the Holland Park artists. A friend and neighbor of Frederic Leighton and of G. F. Watts, she worked to keep their art and memory before the public. Her books include The Life, Letters and Work of Frederic Leighton (1906), G. F. Watts: Reminiscences, a life of Walter Bagehot, who was her brother-in-law, and the novel Lena's Picture.
