Mary Caroline Crawford

Mary Caroline Crawford (1874–1932) was an American writer on the history and old houses of New England, based in Boston. For the publisher L. C. Page she wrote a series of popular books that combined history with anecdote and illustrations, among them Little Pilgrimages Among Old New England Inns, The Romance of Old New England Rooftrees (1902), Old Boston Days and Ways, Romantic Days in Old Boston and Social Life in Old New England. Her books drew on earlier antiquarians and on family papers, and were aimed at general readers and visitors to historic sites.
