M. I. Ebbutt

M. I. Ebbutt was a British writer of the early twentieth century whose Hero-Myths and Legends of the British Race, published by Harrap in 1910 with illustrations by J. H. F. Bacon, Byam Shaw and others, retold the heroic stories of the Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Norse and Norman peoples who settled Britain, from Beowulf and Cuchulain to Robin Hood and Hereward the Wake, with introductions on their sources. The book went through many reprints and belonged to a popular series that also included Norse, Celtic and classical myths. Little is recorded about the author's life.
