Julius Regis (1889–1925) was the pen name of Julius Petersson, a Swedish journalist and writer of detective fiction. Working in Stockholm, he created the journalist and "problem-hunter" Maurice Wallion, who appears in a series of novels beginning around 1914 and including No. 13 Toroni and The Copper House (Kopparhuset, 1917), several of which were translated into English and German in the 1920s. His stories mix the puzzle plot with the spy thriller and are set in a Stockholm crowded with the agents and speculators of the First World War. He died at thirty-five, one of the pioneers of Swedish crime writing.
