Joseph Collins (1866–1950) was an American neurologist and writer. Born in Massachusetts, he practiced and taught in New York, where he helped found the Neurological Institute of New York. Alongside his medical work he wrote travel books on Italy, popular books on nervous health such as The Way with the Nerves, and literary criticism. In 1922 he published one of the first substantial reviews of James Joyce's Ulysses in the New York Times, and his essays in The Doctor Looks at Literature examined modern novelists through the lens of psychology.
