Jewett C. Gilson was an American educator and school administrator in California. He served as superintendent of schools in Oakland and wrote for the series of geographical readers published under the general editorship of Jacques W. Redway, for which he produced Wealth of the World's Waste Places and Oceania in 1913. The book, illustrated with photographs and intended for upper grades, argues that the deserts, polar regions, swamps and highlands of the world have their own uses and resources, and surveys the island groups of the Pacific. Little else about his life is recorded.
