James P. Boyd

James P. Boyd was an American writer and compiler of popular histories and biographies, active at the end of the nineteenth century. His books, sold widely by subscription, include lives of public figures and illustrated surveys of current events. At the close of the century he compiled Triumphs and Wonders of the 19th Century, a large celebratory volume in which he wrote on electricity, libraries and literature and gathered chapters by specialists on science, invention, the arts and social progress.
