J. M. Stone

J. M. Stone was an English Catholic historian of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who wrote mainly on the Tudor period and the Reformation. Her History of Mary I, Queen of England, drawing on documents in archives across Europe, set out to restate the case for the queen against what she saw as Protestant prejudice, and she also published studies of the English Reformation and its aftermath.
